Audley End Estate Shoot
Experience a traditional driven partridge and pheasant shoot at Audley End Estate, one of Essex’s premier shooting destinations. Managed inhand by the family for generations, our private driven shoot combines time-honoured traditions with modern sporting standards, fully compliant with the Code of Good Shooting Practice and the British Game Alliance.
Stunning Essex countryside for exceptional shooting
Set across over 4,000 acres of rolling Essex countryside, the estate offers a landscape partially shaped by Lancelot “Capability” Brown, featuring mature woodland, valleys, and high hedgerows that create naturally challenging shooting terrain. The chalk hills rise to nearly 360 feet, providing the ideal topography for high-flying pheasants and partridges.
Driven pheasant and partridge shooting days in Essex | For all levels
Our drives include long-established favourites such as Hatton’s Plantation, Brands Hill, Wallis’s Wood, and The Oaks, alongside newly developed premium partridge drives spanning 1,000 acres of exceptional ground. These drives offer diverse, high-quality sport for experienced shots and newcomers alike, ensuring a memorable day on the estate.
An excellent day at Audley End, I cannot fault it, a very welcoming estate in a magnificent setting, brilliant sporting birds, delicious food and great company. Geoff was an excellent host all day, and then for lunch. Perfect organisation by Aimee before the day, and lovely to meet her halfway through the day. I would highly recommend. We will be back.

Commitment to exceptional estate management
At Audley End Estate Shoot, delivering a first-class day’s shooting is our priority. Our size and dedicated team of gamekeepers allow the estate to be carefully managed in hand, creating the conditions for both outstanding sport and thoughtful countryside stewardship. Working alongside neighbouring farmers, our keepers maintain woodlands, hedgerows and game cover crops that support not only gamebirds but a wide range of wildlife, including increasing populations of wild grey partridge—an indicator species of healthy farmland—and brown hares.
Professional shoot days with fine dining
Each shoot day is expertly conducted by our Head Keeper and professional team. Guests are welcomed with coffee, enjoy substantial elevenses in the field, and finish with a lunch prepared by a renowned local chef in the atmospheric Audley End Shoot Room at Home Farm. Every gun receives a brace of oven-ready game, while transport around the estate is provided by our bespoke green gun bus. Well-behaved gundogs are warmly welcomed.
Together, this team combines professionalism, passion, and local knowledge to make every day on the estate a memorable and rewarding experience.
